About the role#
This is a part-time, paid internship position based at the Nampa Medical Campus. Interns perform professional pharmacy functions under the supervision of registered pharmacists while adhering to the laws and regulations of the State of Idaho. This role operates on a rotating shift schedule.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and dispense medication orders based on physician requests.
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers in delivering patient care within the state scope of practice.
- Ensure the accuracy of documentation for services and supplies provided to patients.
- Support pharmacists in maintaining safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies.
- Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the pharmacy department.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and other health professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Registration as an Extern or Intern by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to adapt to institutional schedules.
- Previous experience in a health system or as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
