About the role#

The Student Radiology Technologist role involves screening, positioning, and imaging patients to produce diagnostic images. You will work under the supervision of a Radiology Technologist, the Radiology Team Leader, and a Radiologist. This is a part-time, contingent position with a rotating shift. Please note that incumbents may remain in this role for a maximum of 18 months.

What you'll do#

• Screen patients prior to exams for safety, including verifying patient identity and clinical history.
• Follow procedure protocols according to radiologist specifications.
• Perform exams using appropriate techniques and views based on patient condition.
• Complete patient documentation in accordance with department and hospital policy.
• Maintain cooperative relationships and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assist with support functions, such as reviewing patient schedules and maintaining department supplies.

What you'll need#

• Completion of the first year of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and current enrollment in the second year.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to pass the ARRT (R) certification within 6 months of completing the Radiologic Technology program.
• Ability to demonstrate clear clinical skills appropriate to the patient's age.
