About the role#
This program supports nursing students during the final nine months of their education. Participants receive a monthly stipend of $2,000. MercyOne covers board and licensure fees. Upon graduation and licensure, participants begin their career with MercyOne under an 18-month retention agreement.
What you'll do#
- Deliver patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, bathing, ambulation, and transport.
- Measure vital signs, calculate intake and output, and perform bedside blood glucose testing.
- Monitor patients and report changes in physical or mental condition to the nursing staff.
- Prepare rooms for admissions, transfers, and procedures.
- Collect and label specimens and maintain equipment.
- Respond to patient calls and assist with safety measures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited registered nursing program.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within three months of hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of hire.
