About the role#
BrainBox AI, a business of Trane Technologies, uses self-adapted artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption in buildings. This 12-week summer internship program is part of the Trane Technologies Early Career Program. You will receive mentorship, exposure to senior leadership, and the chance to build a professional network. This role is based in Montreal and offers the potential for consideration for full-time opportunities upon graduation.
What you'll do#
Interns work on projects that advance AI-driven solutions within the built environment. Depending on your specific assignment, you will focus on AI product management, controls integration, or AI engineering. Your tasks may include:
- Tracking, documenting, and managing the readiness of AI models and control algorithms.
- Automating workflows and optimizing internal processes.
- Performing competitive assessments and Voice of Customer analysis to support product strategy.
- Supporting the deployment of AI-driven HVAC optimization and building data mapping.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product, marketing, and data science teams.
- Creating documentation, dashboards, and reports to translate insights into recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS/BA in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- At least one prior internship or work experience.
- Full professional proficiency in both English and French.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through campus involvement, sports, or professional projects.
- Experience with tools such as Python, SQL, Jira, or Asana.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
