About the role#
As a Machine Learning Software Intern with the advanced analytics team, you will contribute to predictive and prescriptive analytics projects. You will help improve the operational efficiency of energy plants by refining how software alerts function and how equipment is monitored.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and validate algorithms to improve alert relevance.
- Work with domain experts to verify detected patterns and ensure they match real-world operations.
- Integrate your code into existing equipment monitoring platforms.
- Evaluate algorithm performance using metrics like false alarm reduction rates and detection accuracy.
- Document your work to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge in time-series analysis, temporal pattern recognition, or similar ML techniques.
- Experience using Python and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Ability to read technical documentation and work within a collaborative software development team.
- Familiarity with Git, Jupyter, cloud-based environments, and tools like Jira or Confluence is helpful.
- Experience with industrial sensor data, anomaly detection, or statistical clustering is a plus.
