About the role#
The Golf Course Maintenance Operations Internship is designed to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in golf course maintenance. This role focuses on agronomic plan management and professional tournament preparation, offering the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to pursue a career as an Assistant Golf Superintendent.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Golf Course Maintenance Operations department with daily tasks.
- Learn to manage agronomic plans and prepare the course for tournament play.
- Develop skills in maintaining both tournament and non-tournament playing conditions.
- Operate and maintain the equipment used in golf course maintenance.
- Gain supervised work experience in facility organization, personnel management, and financial oversight.
- Apply knowledge of fertilizer and pesticide application techniques while adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a turf management or agronomy college program.
- Understanding of the agronomic elements of golf course maintenance.
- Familiarity with pesticide application techniques and associated regulations.
- Knowledge of personnel and financial management concepts.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with members and guests.
