DoD Skillbridge Military Intern (Golf Course Maintenance)

About the role#

TPC Summerlin is seeking transitioning service members for a DoD Skillbridge internship within our golf course maintenance operations team. This on-site, full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in maintaining professional-grade golf course grounds. Interns will rotate through various functions, including equipment management, irrigation, and superintendent support, while working in an outdoor environment.

What you'll do#

• Perform routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations or Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.
• Follow established guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for all assigned tasks.
• Undergo thorough training for each procedure prior to beginning work.
• Maintain accurate logs for machine operation, maintenance, and gas usage.
• Perform daily tasks to ensure the maintenance facility remains clean, organized, and safe.
• Clean machinery after each use and inspect equipment for deficiencies, reporting issues to the Equipment Technician.
• Execute specialized tasks including line trimming, edging cart paths and bunkers, ball mark repair, divot filling, sod laying, and operation of utility vehicles, blowers, and backhoes.
• Comply with all safety operating standards, including the use of required personal protective clothing and equipment.

What you'll need#

• Must be a transitioning service member.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to operate golf course machinery.
• Physical ability to perform active work, including lifting, pulling, or pushing up to or over 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
• Preferred educational background in Environmental Engineering or Agriculture.
