About the role#
TPC Summerlin is seeking transitioning service members for a DoD Skillbridge internship within our golf course maintenance operations team. This role provides hands-on experience in maintaining a private, 7,243-yard golf course. Interns will support operations across several areas, including equipment management, irrigation, and application, while gaining exposure to the professional standards of the TPC Network.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations or Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.
- Complete thorough training on procedures for each task before beginning work.
- Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual.
- Execute specific maintenance tasks including line trimming, edging bunkers and cart paths, ball mark repair, divot filling, sod laying, and operating utility vehicles or blowers.
- Maintain detailed logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of machinery.
- Ensure the maintenance facility remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Clean machinery after each use and inspect equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician.
- Wear required personal protective equipment to comply with safety standards.
What you'll need#
- Must be a transitioning service member.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to operate golf course machinery.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pulling, or pushing up to or over 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
