DoD Skillbridge Military Intern (Culinary Operations)

About the role#

The DoD Skillbridge Military Intern (Culinary Operations) role at TPC Las Vegas is a full-time, paid internship designed for transitioning service members. This position provides hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment, working directly with executive chefs and culinary leadership to support back-of-house operations at a premier PGA TOUR property.

What you'll do#

• Maintain high standards of food production quality to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
• Perform essential cooking procedures, including breading, proofing, baking, and preparing meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables for roasting and grilling.
• Execute basic preparation techniques such as slicing, dicing, mincing, and chopping using knives and mechanical equipment like food processors and electric slicers.
• Prepare stocks, soups, banquet platters, trays, and plated foods according to banquet event orders.
• Ensure strict sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen, storage, and dumpster areas, including the proper maintenance and cleaning of cooking equipment.
• Manage the organization of storage areas by storing provisions according to sanitation standards and club practices.
• Support food service efficiency by adhering to timing goals for lunch and dinner ticket times.
• Assist with waste removal, including breaking down boxes and managing trash receptacles.

What you'll need#

• Must be a transitioning service member.
• A high school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least 6 months of experience or culinary trades training involving food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and safe food handling procedures.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, kneel, and use hands to handle or feel equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
