About the role#
Walt Disney Imagineering designs and builds the attractions, resorts, and cruise ships for Disney parks. The Show Systems team handles the full lifecycle of Audio-Animatronic figures, show action equipment, and special effects. As an intern, you will support the engineering process from concept development through final design, production, testing, and commissioning.
What you'll do#
- Design mechanical components under the direction of senior engineers.
- Create models and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform machine design calculations including load development, stress analysis, and motor sizing.
- Provide production support for animated figures and show action equipment.
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Generate drawings and engineering reports to document designs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher in an ABET accredited program for Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to perform basic engineering analysis and calculations.
- Working knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
- Ability to work various shifts to meet project requirements.

- Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to June 2027).
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Compensation is $31.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $36.00 per hour for graduate students.
