    About the role#

    KABC-TV (ABC7) is an ABC owned television station based in Glendale, California. As an intern in our Community Engagement & Development department, you will contribute to the daily operations of a major market television station. You will work individually and as part of a team to support original multiplatform storytelling and station initiatives. This is a full-time, paid internship running from January 2027 through early June 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Produce original digital, streaming, and social media content from concept to completion.
    • Distribute community content across our owned platforms, the news app, and our website.
    • Engage with our audience on Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads.
    • Support internal communications, including the station newsletter, digital signage, and heritage month events.
    • Help manage and operate ABC7 Street Team events throughout Southern California.
    • Interact with viewers, corporate partners, and community-based non-profit organizations.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited college or university, taking at least one class, or current participation in a Disney internship program.
    • Coursework in journalism, communications, marketing, business administration, community engagement, or related fields.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Previous office experience, such as handling emails and phone calls.
    • Familiarity with social media engagement and vertical video production tools like CapCut.
    • Ability to edit and write original storytelling for multiple platforms.
    • Experience with tools like Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Airtable, or Google Docs is helpful.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age with unrestricted work authorization.

    Location & details#

    • This role is located on-site in Glendale, California.
    • You must be available to work 40 hours per week on a schedule that may include nights and weekends.
    • You are responsible for providing your own housing and reliable transportation to the station.
    • You must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship.
