About the role#
As an Information Technology Cybersecurity Engineering Co-Op or Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across various cybersecurity domains. This role is designed for students interested in protecting digital assets, understanding cyber threats, and contributing to a secure enterprise environment. You will work with professionals on projects while gaining exposure to a global mining organization.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and test security tools and technologies.
- Assist with secure configuration reviews and vulnerability assessments.
- Contribute to cybersecurity controls and architecture diagrams.
- Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
- Analyze and report on third-party risk.
- Assist in policy tuning and alert triage.
- Configure and monitor Microsoft Sentinel for security event correlation.
- Support vulnerability management and scanning efforts.
- Contribute to cloud security posture management and security automation workflows using Torq.
- Communicate with various levels of personnel, including management, engineers, and contractors.
- Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
- Adhere to company mission, guiding principles, and priorities.
What you'll need#
- Junior standing or above by January 2027.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
- A GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience through volunteering, student organizations, or work.
- Basic computer skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work full time while maintaining student status.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, climb stairs, and work at various heights.

- Location: Lithia, Florida (FishHawk site).
- Term: January 11, 2027, to April 23, 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full time (36-40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
