About the role#
This 8-month co-op position supports the Digital Risk & Compliance team within the Digital Risk & Cyber Security department. You will help manage cyber risk assessment requests, conduct assessments, and provide reporting to senior leadership. This role is based in Vancouver and requires the successful candidate to be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the term.
What you'll do#
- Act as a courageous safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring environmental and safety procedures.
- Champion the 3 lines of defense model for risk management, serving as a 2nd line of defense facilitator.
- Manage the intake of cyber risk assessment requests by recording them in the tracking system and assigning assessment levels.
- Conduct Basic and Intermediate cyber risk assessments, while supporting Advanced Assessments as needed.
- Facilitate risk briefings with requestors and document findings in reports.
- Assist requestors with updates to their risk registers.
- Maintain business operations by developing reports and presentations, and managing performance and compliance dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, Risk Management, or a similar field.
- A basic understanding of cyber security concepts and frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Microsoft collaboration tools like Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, engaging materials.
- Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups while demonstrating Teck values of being responsible, courageous, respectful, inclusive, humble, and driven.

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 4, 2027).
- Duration: 8 months.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $4,108 - $5,183 per month, based on experience and competencies.
- Additional support: Financial assistance is provided for travel and co-op fees.
