About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work within the IT departments of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will work alongside experienced IT professionals to support systems that serve users at Church headquarters and globally. Interns receive guidance from a mentor to develop professional skills in software testing and engineering.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain test automation using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, and C#.
- Create and execute test plans for various enterprise solutions.
- Collect and report quality metrics to support the software development process.
- Manage test plans, log, track, and close defects using an issue tracking system.
- Collaborate within a team environment to deliver services and support operational quality assurance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, or graduation within the past year, with a focus on Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java/J2EE, C#, JavaScript, and XML.
- Experience or exposure to software testing and relevant frameworks like Selenium, Webdriver.io, Cypress, Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, Git, and AWS.
- Proficiency with operating systems, internet browsers, and cloud technology.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with management.
- Note: Scripting or coding will be required during the interview process. Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment.
Location & details#
- Locations: Lehi, UT and Riverton, UT.
- Modality: On-site, with remote options available for those outside the Wasatch front.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week for approximately 4 months, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Benefits: Full-time interns have the option to enroll in a high deductible medical plan.
