About the role#
The Riley Sports Legends Experience (RSLE) Guest Experience Intern supports museum operations and delivers interpretive experiences. You will assist with visitor interactions, exhibit maintenance, and administrative tasks. This role offers exposure to sports administration, health education, and museum operations through a mix of indoor and outdoor assignments.
What you'll do#
- Provide service to museum visitors and execute engaging interactions.
- Manage guest flow, ticketing, and queue management for the digital immersion space.
- Handle opening and closing procedures for designated zones.
- Research subject matter and practice presentation techniques for interpretive programs.
- Teach foundational sports and physical activity skills in an inclusive environment.
- Encourage visitors to build movement skills and observe exhibit concepts.
- Provide operational assistance to RSLE leadership on assigned projects.
- Complete professional development training to stay current on exhibit content.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate of an associate or bachelor program.
- Experience working with children in formal or informal settings.
- Strong presentation and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a child-centric environment.
- Capacity to interact with visitors and staff in a positive and supportive manner.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, humidity, and unpredictable weather.
- Background in sports is preferred.
