About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience with the technology that powers The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. You will assist the team in maintaining existing systems and developing new gallery experiences. A primary focus for this term is the installation and mobilization of a new gallery space.
What you'll do#
- Open the building daily to verify that all interactives function correctly.
- Assist with the installation of technology in new galleries.
- Brainstorm concepts for future gallery interactives and technologies.
- Create technical documentation for new builds.
- Work AV events and attend project meetings.
- Shadow staff members to gain hands-on training.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 1 to 2 years of college coursework.
- A background in AV, entertainment, or technology-related fields.
- Experience with both PC and Mac operating systems.
- Troubleshooting skills and an understanding of projectors and lighting technology.
- Ability to follow direction while working independently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous experience in theater or live production AV is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, use hand and power tools, and work on ladders or at heights.

- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week.
