About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand store operations, leadership practices, and how to provide a positive shopping experience for our guests. This role is designed for students interested in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
What you'll do#
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage a designated product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by monitoring performance metrics through the Performance Tracker.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, processing freight, and maintaining store displays.
- Provide weekly progress updates and reports to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete all required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
