    About the role#

    This is a paid co-op opportunity for the Fall 2027 term with the AES Ohio Substation Engineering team. You will work on-site in Dayton, Ohio, gaining practical experience in the design of electrical substations.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with staff engineers to design components for 12kV through 345kV substations.
    • Create physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    • Produce detailed engineering design packages that meet AES Ohio and industry standards.
    • Handle additional tasks assigned by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a four-year degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
    • A strong academic record.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office is preferred.
