    About the role#

    This co-op position for the Fall 2027 term is based on the Relay/Protection and Control Engineering team at AES Ohio. You will gain practical experience in the protection and control of electrical power systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Work with staff engineers to perform electrical calculations, coordination studies, and short circuit studies.
    • Design relay logic to develop protective relaying settings that detect and isolate faults on the transmission and distribution system.
    • Produce detailed engineering work that follows AES Ohio and industry standards like IEEE and NERC.
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
    • Candidates with sophomore standing or higher are preferred.
    • A strong academic background, organizational skills, and attention to detail are important.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.
