    About the role#

    This internship with the AES Indiana Substation Engineering team offers hands-on experience in substation design and system protection. You will work alongside staff engineers to support the design of facilities and relay protection for transmission and distribution systems. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist staff engineers with ongoing substation projects.
    • Facilitate engineering analysis and design work for system protection and substation infrastructure.
    • Complete project work intended to provide practical engineering experience.
    • Handle additional assignments as directed by your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technology fields.
    • Sophomore status or higher is preferred.
    • A strong academic background.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Solid organization and presentation skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
