About the role#
As an Engineering Co-op, you will work with experienced engineers and business professionals on projects that support the planning, operation, and modernization of the electric grid. You will gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and contribute to initiatives that drive the energy transition while building your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers on electric infrastructure projects designing distribution and transmission power systems.
- Develop solutions to gather, store, and use electrical asset data.
- Create and maintain electrical models using power flow software.
- Prepare scope of work documents, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Build project business cases using financial modeling tools.
- Validate project financial data for the annual budget review process.
- Manage the budget for assigned transmission and distribution annual investment programs.
- Use Management of Change and Asset Governance processes.
- Participate in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
- Support the development and updates of Asset Life Cycle Plans.
- Attend site visits to substations to verify electric facilities.
- Study potential grid problems and propose solutions.
- Participate in company learning opportunities and network with peers and leaders.
