About the role#
The Life and Health Underwriting Analyst Intern/Co-op will report to the Underwriting Manager at TD Life Insurance Company. This is a full-time, 4-month position for the Winter 2027 term. You will assist the team with research, process improvements, and training development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the revision of internal underwriting guidelines.
- Conduct research related to medical and non-medical impairments.
- Review training material for new underwriters and provide recommendations.
- Assist with the review of tasks performed by underwriters and case managers.
- Identify and recommend ways to streamline internal processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate degree program with the intent to return to school after the work term.
- Preferred majors include Accounting, Analytics, Data, Biomedical Sciences, Health Research, Kinesiology, or Pharmacy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with collaborative software such as WebEx and MS Teams.
- A willingness to learn internal platforms for intranet and e-space publications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in English and French, both written and verbal.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a requirement to work from a physical TD location at least 3 days per week.
- Term: January 5, 2027 - April 23, 2027.
