About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, full-time, hands-on training opportunity designed to provide a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. Over the course of the summer, you will work closely with mentors and store leadership to understand retail business operations and develop your management skills. You will spend your time on the sales floor and in the backroom, gaining experience in team leadership, guest service, and operational performance.
What you'll do#
- Lead and align team members on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain a deep understanding of their role and department management.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles to ensure smooth daily performance.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by engaging with customers, solving problems, and ensuring team members are empowered to assist.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks within the store to support business objectives.
- Partner with leadership to provide performance feedback and support team development.
- Participate in daily huddles and provide summaries of store priorities and results.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management and a commitment to team-oriented thinking.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and store leadership.
- Previous retail experience is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Proficiency in learning and adapting to retail technology, including handheld scanners and communication devices.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Resources.
