About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, 40-hour per week training experience designed to prepare you for a career in retail leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working closely with mentors and store managers. You will spend your time on the sales floor and in the backroom, learning how to manage department workloads, drive business results, and foster an inclusive team culture.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate team members to achieve daily business priorities.
- Partner with store leaders to provide performance feedback, coaching, and training.
- Manage department workloads to support sales goals and operational efficiency.
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by engaging with shoppers and resolving their needs.
- Participate in core store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and building product displays.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to review business reports and identify areas for improvement.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to think in a team-oriented way.
- The ability to learn and adapt to store technology, handheld scanners, and communication devices.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The physical capacity to lift or move merchandise weighing up to 44 pounds.
- Enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, or Marketing.
