About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, 40-hour per week training experience designed to prepare you for a career in retail leadership. Over the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work alongside mentors and managers to understand how the business functions, while learning to lead teams and drive store performance. This is an on-site, hands-on program.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support the execution of daily operations on the salesfloor and in the backroom.
- Drive guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to assist shoppers.
- Manage daily priorities, such as stocking shelves, building displays, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
- Provide summaries of results and store priorities to the leadership team.
- Partner with leaders to coach team members, deliver performance feedback, and address operational hurdles.
- Participate in daily huddles and help set goals for your department.
- Gain business acumen by reviewing reports and guest insights to troubleshoot opportunity areas.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate store technology, climb ladders, and lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or Operations Management.
