About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with the IEC Engineering team to design, commission, and support control systems. You will work alongside experienced professionals on diverse teams to support existing assets and explore new project opportunities. This role is designed to connect your educational background with practical career experience in the oil and gas industry.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and support industrial automation control systems, including PLCs and HMIs.
- Assist with projects to implement new control systems and upgrade existing infrastructure.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical gear.
- Manage and improve a standard library of programming objects and templates used across the company.
- Gain experience with HMI applications and Python programming.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an approved Bachelor’s degree program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms quickly.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

- Location: Lakewood, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks, May through August).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site or hybrid.
- Compensation: $26.18 to $37.09 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
