About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will apply your engineering education to real manufacturing opportunities at our Rock Hill site. You will work under the guidance of the Site Technical Manager and Production Engineers to lead and support projects that improve productivity, quality, and maintenance. This role requires full-time commitment and involves active collaboration with plant staff to solve problems and keep stakeholders informed.
What you'll do#
- Manage and complete assigned engineering projects.
- Communicate with plant staff to identify and implement solutions.
- Use SAP for daily functions and document control.
- Support production by troubleshooting and tracking performance metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior in an ABET accredited Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to work safely in a hot manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Prior experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Eligibility to work at a NIST/Export Control site (no sponsorship provided).
