    About the role#

    This co-op position is based in the Separations Group within the Analytical Department at the Syensqo Stamford Research and Innovation Center. You will work in an industrial research environment, collaborating with teams in research and development, process development, and technical service. The role focuses on supporting Polymer Additives and Mining Solutions business units through hands-on analytical chemistry projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Work alongside experienced scientists to perform sample analysis.
    • Use chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques to identify and quantitate molecules.
    • Quantitate additives in polyolefins and identify impurities for raw material qualification.
    • Receive training on analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC, and mass spectrometry detectors.
    • Document results in technical reports and share findings with project teams.
    • Assist with lab housekeeping, chemical inventory, waste handling, and instrument maintenance.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in chemistry, biology, physics, or a related science discipline.
    • Prior experience with chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Interpersonal skills with clear oral and written communication.
    • Commitment to continuous learning.

    • Location: Stamford, Connecticut.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Employment type: Full-time.
    • Compensation: Paid position, ranging from $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience and grade level.
