About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based at our facility in New Century, Kansas. You will join our R&D team for a 10 to 12 week program. You will gain hands-on experience in food product development, sensory evaluation, and laboratory operations while working across multiple scientific disciplines. At the end of the program, you will present your project work, results, and conclusions.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and testing new food formulations.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and analyze consumer feedback.
- Support shelf-life and stability studies under various storage conditions.
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Document experimental procedures and results in technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including C&D, marketing, and operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of your sophomore year of undergraduate education, with plans to return to school in the fall.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Interest in human testing of flavors and fragrances.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- High level of initiative and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with theoretical and practical aspects of your field.
