About the role#
This internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in a manufacturing environment by integrating classroom theory with practical work. You will work on one major project and one to two minor projects focused on testing IFF dairy cultures and milk coagulation enzymes. You will support application specialists across the full project lifecycle, from experimental design to final reporting.
What you'll do#
- Assist with technical projects including equipment setup, material preparation, and testing.
- Operate small scale lab and pilot plant equipment to produce cheese and yoghurt samples.
- Use laboratory analytical equipment to test samples.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from your trials.
- Present trial reports and deliver a final internship project report to the application team.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS, Masters, or Ph.D. program in Dairy or a related Food Science field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage your time effectively and work well as a team player.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Prior internship experience in the dairy industry is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Madison, Wisconsin.
- The role operates on a rolling term.
