About the role#
This internship offers a balance of office-based engineering work and hands-on industrial experience. You will work within the Finishing Mill Department at the Flat Roll Division, applying engineering principles directly to equipment and systems. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support operations and projects using engineering principles in both office and industrial settings.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports on your findings.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Identify operational trends, recommend improvements, and develop trials based on facility needs.
- Work hands-on with mechanical systems and maintenance tasks alongside operators.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance knowledge.
- Comfort performing hands-on work in an industrial environment.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with operators.
