About the role#
Schaeffler is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Co-op for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers practical experience within our Engine or Chassis departments. You will work on engineering projects alongside our team, gaining exposure to our manufacturing and technology development processes.
What you'll do#
- Support design tasks including calculations, simulations, and CAD modeling.
- Conduct component or system level mechanical testing.
- Perform physical teardown analysis, including inspections, photography, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on various projects.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 per semester.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Preferred: Experience with 3D CAD modeling software, participation in SAE collegiate competition teams, or experience as a mechanical hobbyist.
