About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the Mechanical Design Engineering team in the development, integration, and validation of mechanical systems for high-performance computing and data-center rack solutions. You will gain hands-on experience with mechanical design, CAD, prototyping, testing, and documentation in a product development environment.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical engineers with the design and development of components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, and layouts.
- Assist with prototype builds, mechanical assembly, fit and finish evaluations, and design verification activities.
- Support engineering testing and data collection.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and identifying potential design improvements.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Contribute to documentation, engineering reports, and presentation materials.
- Work with cross-functional teams including electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and operations.
- Support prototype and production build activities.
- Follow established engineering processes, design standards, and product development procedures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Completed at least your sophomore year of study.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and dimensions.
- Basic understanding of GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
