About the role#
This is a 16-month internship focused on test development. You will join an engineering team to create and maintain hardware and software test solutions for our customers. This role involves working in a production environment where you will gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of test and automation solutions, including hardware, software, diagnostics, and user interfaces.
- Assist in developing line automation tools such as robotics and vision systems.
- Implement software and hardware solutions, covering procurement, integration, qualification, and installation for manufacturing test.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to review and provide input on development designs.
- Integrate tools and code from internal groups and external customers.
- Debug solutions using design of experiments and failure analysis.
- Update development work instructions and manage project inventory and materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers to improve process quality and efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university internship or co-op program, having completed your 3rd year of a 4-year degree or 4th year of a 5-year degree.
- Major in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- General knowledge of electronics and hardware assembly skills.
- Proficiency in software code design and development.
- Experience with instrumentation such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office tools.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status to comply with the Controlled Goods Program.
