About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Transportation Co-op Student for the Fall 2026 term to join our team in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This role supports our Transportation group in providing consulting services for Class Environmental Assessments, preliminary design, and detail design projects for public sector clients. You will assist with the planning and design of provincial highways, interchanges, and municipal roads, as well as bridge and structure inspection and design.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering drawings and plans using industry standard drafting principles.
- Document existing transportation conditions based on survey plans and field reconnaissance.
- Identify existing transportation deficiencies based on current design standards.
- Contribute to the planning, preliminary design, and detail design of transportation improvement projects.
- Prepare content for reports and proposals.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Desirable: Knowledge of transportation engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inroads, or OpenRoads.
- Previous summer work-term or co-op experience is considered an asset.
