About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026 based in Edmonton, Alberta. As an Intern Architect, you will work within the Buildings Practice to support project teams across all stages of design. You will receive direct mentorship from Registered Architects while contributing to projects ranging from conceptual sketches and massing models to construction administration. This role is on-site at our global headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams in the development of architectural design documentation.
- Utilize BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Prepare and revise documentation throughout various architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
- Assist in site analysis, research of concepts, benchmarks, typology, and precedents.
- Implement sustainable design principles into building designs and the surrounding environment.
- Participate in design critiques, interpret building codes, and assist with contract administration tasks such as reviewing shop drawings and responding to requests for information.
What you'll need#
- Masters degree in Architecture (M.Arch).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in the architecture industry.
- Currently registered as an Intern Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects, or eligible to do so.
- Basic understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Ability to produce presentation renderings, diagrams, and massing models.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Enscape or Lumion, and Microsoft Office.
