About the role#
This is a co-op student position working under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will contribute to projects across the education, transit, healthcare, and civic sectors. This role involves a variety of tasks ranging from the preparation of construction drawings to the development of presentation materials.
What you'll do#
- Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building programs, and related project materials.
- Support the project team in the development of design and construction documentation.
- Assist in design development through sketches, physical models, digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
- Conduct research on concepts, benchmarks, materials, typology, and precedents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a mechanical engineering program at a college or university.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and building programs.
- Ability to engage in creative and critical thought and participate in a collaborative team setting.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCad, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft, and rendering software is considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate abstract ideas effectively through hand sketching and written or verbal means.
