About the role#
Space Dynamics Laboratory is looking for a student to assist with outreach events and administrative tasks. You will represent the organization at K-12 STEM events and lead public tours. This role involves balancing event coordination with project documentation and process improvements.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and run outreach events, including lectures, activities, and facility tours.
- Represent the company at STEM events for K-12 students.
- Create content for newsfeeds and social media teams.
- Maintain and update research and development files, outreach metrics, and internal process documents.
- Generate new ideas for outreach materials and improve existing workflows.
- Work with co-workers and the public in a cooperative manner.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student at Utah State University.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Status as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
- Strong communication skills, including clear writing, speaking, and active listening.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in STEM, science communication, or K-12 outreach.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Experience giving professional presentations is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: North Logan, Utah.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule requirements: Ability to work two to six evenings each month and up to two Saturdays per year.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
