About the role#
Space Dynamics Laboratory is hiring an Engineering Assistant to support hardware and software projects within our C4ISR Systems Division. This role is for students interested in custom network and communication systems. You will work alongside engineers to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. We provide training to help you contribute to our mission-critical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines and processes.
- Assist with the development of automated hardware and software test procedures.
- Assemble, test, and validate electrical hardware.
- Create and maintain project documentation.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on ongoing tasks and team meetings.
- Support testing, debugging, and issue resolution for hardware and software systems.
- Learn new tools and technologies to build your technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Utah State University.
- Pursuing a degree or certification in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with electronic schematics, hardware and software troubleshooting, computer networking, FPGA programming, or languages like Python, C, C++, and JavaScript.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Location & details#
- Location: North Logan, UT.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 15-20 hours per week during the semester, with the potential for up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
