About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026 based in Mt Vernon, Indiana. You will work on-site with our welding engineering team to support projects and improve operational efficiency. This role is open to students pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Learn and carry out basic functions of shop floor and contract welding engineering duties.
- Lead 5S and process improvement projects for specific shop operations.
- Assist with the development and interpretation of welding procedures.
- Perform audits of welding operations and systems.
- Contribute to the documentation and analysis of welding metrics.
- Support shop floor operations and troubleshoot welding equipment.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a Welding Engineering program with at least sophomore status.
- Knowledge of basic arc welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, SAW, and GMAW.
- Proficiency in fundamental computer skills such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
