About the role#
The SouthState Bank Commercial Banking Internship is a 10-week program designed to provide undergraduate students with an introduction to commercial banking operations, strategies, and career paths. Interns work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on exposure to financial solutions and industry insights. The program includes workshops, training sessions, mentorship, and networking opportunities with senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Conduct market research and financial analysis to identify client needs and recommend banking solutions.
- Assist with financial spreads, due diligence on potential borrowers, and the review of loan documents.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, credit analysts, and team leaders on active business initiatives.
- Support marketing activities to enhance client engagement and promote banking services.
- Participate in all internship program activities, including professional development workshops and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Economics.
- A 3.4 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- A strong analytical mindset and an eagerness to learn.
- Detail-oriented and proactive work approach.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position requiring 40 hours per week in the office.
