About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern newsroom. You will contribute to the storytelling process that informs the local community across broadcast and digital platforms during the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage.
- Learn how to shoot video and frame compelling visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Passion for local news, storytelling, and community impact.
- Ability to work on-site at WSBT in South Bend, Indiana, for approximately 15 hours per week over a 10-week period.
- Reliable transportation.
