Newsroom Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience and observational learning at KUTV. Interns gain a comprehensive understanding of the news production process from start to finish while playing an active role in daily newsgathering.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the daily newsgathering process.
• Engage in observational learning and hands-on production tasks.
• Coordinate internship hours with your educational faculty to ensure alignment with academic requirements.
• Work 10-20 hours per week, depending on university credit requirements.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment at an accredited college or university in a program such as Journalism, Communications, or Political Science.
• Registration in an internship course at your institution for the duration of the program.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Reliable transportation.
• Preference is given to students entering their junior or senior year or graduate programs.
• Submission of two work samples, such as writing projects, audio, or video, is preferred.

• Compensation: This is an unpaid internship for academic credit.
