About the role#
Newsroom Interns at KUTV gain a comprehensive understanding of news production from start to finish. This role involves observational learning and hands-on experience, allowing interns to play an active part in the daily newsgathering process. Interns are assigned to various time slots and must coordinate their schedule with their educational faculty to ensure the position qualifies for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the daily newsgathering process.
- Engage in observational learning and hands-on tasks to understand news production.
- Complete 10 to 20 hours of work per week, depending on university requirements.
- Coordinate internship hours with your educational institution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with registration in an internship course.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Reliable transportation.
- Preference is given to students entering their junior or senior year or those in a graduate program.
- Preferred, but not required, are two samples of work such as writing projects, audio, or videotape.
- Preferred, but not required, is a copy of internship guidelines from your institution.
- Relevant fields of study include Journalism, Communications, and Political Science.
