    About the role#

    The 2026 Summer News Internship at WSTM/CW6/WTVH-TV offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a broadcast news department. This program is designed for individuals planning and preparing for a career in the news industry.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist the News Department with daily operations.
    • Conduct research for news stories.
    • Provide support during live news broadcasts.
    • Shadow reporters and anchors to observe professional workflows.
    • Participate in departmental meetings.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently attending an accredited college or university with a major in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must receive academic credit for the internship experience and provide credit verification forms.
    • Ability to work 10-20 hours per week, including some weekends.
    • Reliable transportation.
