About the role#
As a Tax Intern at Simplot, you will gain hands-on experience in tax and accounting within an international company. This role offers exposure to a variety of technical issues and allows you to build professional skills through real-world projects. You will work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Prepare sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions throughout the US.
- Compile information to support sales tax audits.
- Conduct tax research and document your findings.
- Monitor and record property tax bills and assessments using tax technology.
- Assist with income tax research and special projects.
- Support international GST and PST filing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a BA, BS, or MS in Accounting or Tax.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An interest in pursuing a career in indirect tax.
- Flexibility with your work schedule during the school year.
- Preferred status: Early Junior in an undergraduate accounting program or Early Senior committed to a Master of Tax program.
- Preferred availability for a duration of 6 months.
