About the role#
This internship offers students in the agriculture industry a chance to gain experience within the Simplot Grower Solutions trade area. You will handle day-to-day operations during the peak season and transition into agronomy duties as the season progresses. This is a full-time, paid position based in Kindersley, Saskatchewan.
What you'll do#
- Assist with product movement, organization, and loading or unloading tasks.
- Support operations employees and help treat seed.
- Perform inventory counts twice a week and complete loadout tickets for customers.
- Maintain a clean and tidy yard.
- Scout three of your own fields throughout the growing season.
- Consult with your local Agronomist, ACE, or Agronomy Lead regularly.
- Use tools like AgWorld to track your scouting data.
- Execute the field signing initiative and help manage trial fields, including data capture and customer tours.
- Participate in ride-alongs and role shadowing with account managers and innovation leads.
- Complete the Winfield United Agronomy and Intern Training Program.
- Follow company safety practices and maintain professional conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in post-secondary education related to the agriculture industry.
- A valid Class 5 driver license.
- Ability to perform manual labor and tasks requiring manual dexterity.
