About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern position at a Shoppers Drug Mart location in Sherwood Park. You will work in a community pharmacy setting to gain practical experience while supporting the daily operations of a retail store. The role focuses on patient interaction, pharmacy management, and professional development under the guidance of a local Associate-Owner.
What you'll do#
- Greet and assist all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Manage customer confidentiality and ensure all consent requirements are met.
- Maintain a professional appearance so you are clearly identifiable to the public.
- Learn about the evolving responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
- Develop skills in disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Gain hands-on experience with over-the-counter products.
- Improve your communication with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
- Assist with the general management of a retail pharmacy.
