Analyst, Audit Co-op Student

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid co-op student position for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Internal Audit and Risk Management team to support the Shoppers Drug Mart Store Audit Program. The role involves managing audit processes including planning, fieldwork, and reporting. You will gain exposure to advisory services, risk assessment, and controls within a retail environment.

What you'll do#

• Learn the end-to-end audit lifecycle from planning to follow-up.
• Prepare store audit reports for review and comment.
• Use data analytics to improve the effectiveness of audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provide input to management for risk-based audit plans.
• Assist with special investigations and departmental initiatives.
• Prepare store audit metrics, insights, and quarterly reports.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and store Associates.
• Manage difficult situations with professionalism and respect.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance program.
• Willingness to learn internal auditing, control standards, and advisory skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Interest in learning advanced data analytics tools.
• Ability to work as a team player who is agile and resilient.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
• A self-starter mindset with a focus on clear communication.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a commitment to integrity and confidentiality.

• Location: 243 Consumers Road, North York, Ontario.
• Term: January 6, 2027, to April 16, 2027.
• Modality: Hybrid (up to 1 day remote per week, with 4 days in the office).
• Travel: National travel may occur.
