About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student role at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The position provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting, focusing on real-world training to supplement your academic studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Support customer confidentiality and manage consent requirements.
- Ensure you are clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Manage retail pharmacy operations and learn about the expanding roles of the community pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- A desire to enhance communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
- An interest in expanding your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Readiness to learn the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.

- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, day shifts with rolling terms.
- Pay: $22.00 to $28.75 per hour, based on experience and location.
