About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student position located at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Bower Place Mall, Red Deer. This role provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting to supplement academic training in fields such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration. You will work under a local Associate-Owner while gaining exposure to the operations of a retail pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including maintaining customer confidentiality and managing consent.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- A desire to enhance communication skills when interacting with patients, employees, and other health care professionals.
- An interest in expanding knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- A willingness to learn the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
- A commitment to preparing for a future career as a pharmacist in a community setting.
Location & details#
- Location: 4900 Molly Bannister Drive, Unit A06, Red Deer, Alberta.
- Pay: $23.20 - $30.25 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge.
- Schedule: Part-time, day shifts.
- Modality: On-site.
