About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly position for a pharmacy student at a locally owned and operated Shoppers Drug Mart location. The role provides practical, real-world experience in a community pharmacy setting to supplement academic studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration. You will work under an Associate-Owner while gaining exposure to the daily operations of a retail pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including maintaining customer confidentiality and managing consent.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
What you'll need#
- A desire to enhance communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
- An interest in expanding knowledge of over-the-counter products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- A willingness to learn the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy environment.
- A commitment to preparing for a future career as a pharmacist in a community setting.

- Location: 4900 Molly Bannister Drive, Unit A06, Red Deer, Alberta.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $23.20 - $30.25 per hour, based on experience and knowledge.
- Schedule: Part-time, day shifts, rolling term.
