About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student position at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Red Deer, Alberta. You will gain practical experience in a community pharmacy setting while supporting the delivery of health, beauty, and convenience services. This role is designed to prepare students for future careers as pharmacists by providing real-world training within a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management, are met.
- Maintain a professional appearance so you are clearly identifiable to the public.
- Provide an exceptional experience for pharmacy customers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- A willingness to enhance your communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
- An interest in expanding your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- A desire to learn the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.20 - $30.25 per hour, based on experience and knowledge.
- Schedule: Part-time with flexible, varied hours.
