About the role#
The Accounting Intern will support the finance team by processing invoices and providing service to internal business partners. You will gain hands-on experience by working with members of different departments and their vendors. This role offers exposure to various accounting and finance functions.
What you'll do#
- Receive and process invoices for multiple business areas.
- Manage and update the vendor listing, including payment terms and methods.
- Assess vendor use tax requirements and apply appropriate judgments.
- Reconcile store bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Record journal entries for daily operations and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as part of month-end activities.
- Organize and maintain financial documents for safekeeping.
- Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.

- Location: Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Availability: Minimum of 20-25 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
